7 Best Rooftop Bars In San Miguel de Allende Not To Miss
Searching for the best rooftop bars in San Miguel de Allende? Then you have come to the right place as I will share with you the top bars in San Miguel de Allende where you can sit back, relax, take in exceptional views, and sip on the yummiest mezcal cocktails.
I made it a point to visit one to two rooftop bars each day I was in San Miguel in the quest to find the ones that had a jaw-dropping effect on me.
Each of these San Miguel de Allende rooftop bars overlook the historic city center, colorful buildings in abundance, and the remarkable La Parroquia de San Miguel Arcangel church.
At each of these San Miguel de Allende rooftops, the pastel pink church resembling a wedding cake will capture your attention as it can be seen from different vantage points no matter where you are in town.
Although all of these rooftop bars serve as restaurants, I primarily focused on the view, ambiance, and the quality of the drinks in making up my decision.
A peek at the menus suggests that the food selections look pretty good too but that’s not the focus here.
After enjoying a drink on one of these dreamy rooftops, discover what to do in San Miguel de Allende, during the rest of your stay!
Tips: Towards the bottom of this post, you’ll find a handy map with each San Miguel bar marked for easy reference.

Best Rooftop Bars In San Miguel de Allende
1. Cielo Rooftop
Steps from the main square or Jardin Allende in a pretty pastel yellow exterior is Cielo Rooftop San Miguel de Allende. Enter the corner building and make your way up the stairs until you reach the top.
A covered rooftop patio lined with tables paired with black and white striped chairs add to the chic décor.
If you are fortunate enough, grab a table closest to the edge. But even if you don’t, the views are great wherever you sit.
Once seated, your eyes can’t help but fall on the beautiful La Parroquia de San Miguel Arcangel and the tree-lined Jardin in front of it.
If you need a cocktail with a little kick, order a Carajillo. It is the yummiest coffee cocktail made with espresso, Licor 43, over ice and just the tiniest bit of foam topped with an espresso bean.
Carajillo’s have become my favorite afternoon cocktail when in Mexico and a drink I highly recommend!
Serve Food: Yes. And although I didn’t eat here, the menu looked pretty good too.
Hours: Open Monday – Thursday from 9:00 am to 11:00 pm, Friday & Saturday from 9:00 am to midnight, and Sunday from 9:00 am to 8:00pm.

2. Luna Rooftop Tapas Bar
Of all the best bars in San Miguel de Allende on this list, Luna Rooftop is the furthest from the historic center but so worth visiting.
The Luna Rooftop tapas bar can be found at the luxurious Rosewood San Miguel, about a 15-minute walk on a slight downhill from the main square.
And if you happen to be staying at the Rosewood hotel you are in for a treat as it is an upscale oasis within the city.
With its colonial hacienda architecture, it is without a doubt one of the nicest hotels in this part of Mexico.
The sweeping views of San Miguel are breathtaking giving you a great vantage point to see the entire city with its church bell towers standing tall.
And the pink Gothic architecture of La Parroquia de San Miguel Arcangel is hard to miss.
If you are looking for some mouthwatering artisanal cocktails, you will be delighted to try one of many creations by top mixologists.
I enjoyed a very easy to drink mezcal cocktail that was both refreshing and hit the spot on a warm day.
Serve Food: Yes, a full menu ranging from tapas, lunch, and dinner.
Hours: Open daily from 12:00 pm to 11:00 pm.
3. B’ani Terraza
B’ani was the first rooftop bar I visited during my stay in San Miguel de Allende and let’s just say I had a wow moment at my first glimpse of the colonial town.
Located three blocks west of La Parroquia de San Miguel Arcangel and one block south of the bright yellow colored Church of the Immaculate Conception, the views are mesmerizing.
There is a really relaxed vibe experiencing a meal and drinks at B’ani especially when the sun starts to go down. All the surrounding buildings and church towers have a warm glow to them.
Serve Food: Yes! I had dinner here and all the food I sampled was delicious from the tacos to the guacamole & chips, and other appetizers.
Hours: Open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday from 9:00am to 10:00pm, Friday from 9:00 am to 11:00 pm, Saturday from 9:00 am to midnight, and Sunday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.
4. Rooftop At Selina
The Rooftop at Selina San Miguel de Allende is a gorgeous rooftop bar in San Miguel de Allende with several different vantage points depending on where you are sitting which adds to the appeal of getting a table here.
It is one of the few bars in San Miguel where you really can take in a panoramic view of the city.
As you are walking up the series of steps, you will be greeted with views of La Parroquia de San Miguel Arcangel, a lovely courtyard, and art mural before stepping up to the rooftop terrace.
Spending the afternoon here as sunset approaches is quite spectacular with happy people sipping delectable cocktail creations and chill music vibes.
It makes for the perfect spot to kick back, take in the entire city, various church towers, and realize why this city is always ranked as one of the best cities in Mexico to visit.
And if you are looking for a hotel with close proximity to all the attractions, you can stay at the Selina San Miguel de Allende below.
Serve Food: Yes, you can get breakfast, lunch, and dinner here.
Hours: Open Sunday – Thursday from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm, Friday & Saturday from 8:00 am to 11:00 pm.
5. Quince Rooftop San Miguel de Allende
Of all the best rooftops in San Miguel de Allende, you can’t get a closer view of the pale pink towers of La Parroquia de San Miguel Arcangel.
You are eye to eye with the elaborate details that went into this masterpiece.
Quince has even been referenced as on of the best rooftop bars in the world in addition to the best rooftop restaurant in San Miguel de Allende.
I admit, it is an amazing rooftop bar to experience but not sure if it is the best in the world. I’ll leave that up to you to decide!
If you enjoy sampling creative cocktail creations, Quince has some top mixologists serving up handcrafted drinks.
I ordered the Mezzy Mango and couldn’t have been happier with it! Mezcal mixed with fresh mango pulp and lime juice is a cooling cocktail to sip on a warm afternoon.
Note: This was the only rooftop bar that required a reservation ahead of time. The afternoon I went they were full, but I made a reservation for the next day. You can book via the OpenTable app or in person.
Serve Food: Yes, the menu features upscale cuisine combining Mexican and Global flavors for breakfast (weekends), lunch, and dinner.
Hours: Open Monday – Friday from 1:00 pm to 10:45 pm, Saturday & Sunday from 10:00 am to 10:45 pm.
6. La Azotea San Miguel de Allende
La Azotea is another rooftop bar in San Miguel de Allende that has a great vibe about it albeit small compared to the other rooftops in this post.
From most seats, you can get a glimpse of Church of the Immaculate Conception with its distinctive shade of yellow.
This is one of the San Miguel de Allende rooftops I went to based on a recommendation to try their shrimp tacos.
What makes these tacos different is instead of a tortilla, you get a white tortilla shell made of jicama!
I wasn’t sure about them initially but after biting into a taco, I became an instant fan. Don’t miss out on ordering them if you do come as they are absolutely delicious…
Sticking with my love of mezcal cocktails, I couldn’t pass up on ordering the Mezcal Tropical.
Hence its name, it is made of fresh tropical fruit juices of pineapple, strawberry, and passion fruit blended with mezcal.
What made this tasty drink so unusual was the vessel it came in. There was definitely an art to drinking it without spilling as it came in a small bowl balanced on a tripod-like stand!
Serve Food: Yes! You can order elevated Mexican fare for lunch or dinner.
Hours: Open daily from 12:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
7. Bekeb
About four blocks from Jardin Allende is Bekeb known for its artisanal mixology cocktails.
At the top of the Hotel Casa Hoyos, Bekeb is a space with a serene setting that is an beautiful rooftop in San Miguel de Allende.
Focusing on using top quality ingredients and the use of ancestral Mexican spirits such as mezcal, tequila, and pulque this bar is the place to go for cocktails.
And of course, as with all the rooftop bars in San Miguel, no view would be complete without the lovely La Parroquia de San Miguel Arcangel front and center.
Serve Food: Yes, you can enjoy an array of small plates and snacks.
Hours: Open Tuesday – Thursday from 4:00 pm to midnight, Friday & Saturday from 4:00 pm to 1:00 am, Sunday from 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm, and closed on Monday.
